IBM Warehouse Management System V9.3 – Three Reasons to Upgrade

May 19, 2014 by The Bridge Solutions Group Team

warehouse-management

We are pleased to announce that IBM has released V9.3 of their Warehouse Management System which includes the following new features:

1. More Efficient Return to Vendor Process

The new Return to Vendor process allows a more efficient process for returning goods to a supplier. Warehouses that have Return to Vendor inventory can now execute the outbound return to vendor process without having to go through a manual shipment and wave creation. In addition to the reduced process overhead, the new process can be executed on hand-held radio frequency devices to provide the additional benefit of mobility to warehouse operations. Radio frequency execution can also contribute to reducing errors that can be attributed to manual processing.

2. Generic Printing Solution Capability

IBM Sterling Warehouse Management System V9.3 supports printing with any printing solution that you choose to use. This enhancement enables you to take advantage of existing solutions and skills for printing to help contribute to lowering the total cost of operation of Sterling Warehouse Management System.

3. General Enhancements to Improve Operational Efficiency

Other enhancements in the outbound process are designed to allow warehouses to optimize and gain efficiency. Some examples of these are replenishing to demand and location capacity, changes to the containerization algorithm to achieve more optimal container suggestion, a repacking process on mobile, and others.
